Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Field Technician – Fiber Optic Installation to support high-performance data center and hyperscale infrastructure deployments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with fiber optic installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting in mission-critical environments. This role requires strong technical precision, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently on active project sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Install fiber optic cabling, pathways, trays, and conduits inside active data center environments
• Perform fiber termination, fusion splicing, cable routing, and cable management activities
• Conduct OTDR, optical power meter, and insertion loss testing
• Troubleshoot fiber connectivity issues and perform restoration activities when required
• Read and interpret fiber optic network drawings, layouts, and technical documentation
• Maintain accurate as-built documentation and test result records
• Coordinate with project managers, site leads, and QA/QC teams during deployments
• Follow all site safety, security, and access control protocols

Requirements

• 3+ years of fiber optic installation experience in data centers or critical infrastructure environments
• Experience with single-mode and multi-mode fiber systems
• Proficiency with OTDR testing, fusion splicing, and fiber certification tools
• Understanding of structured cabling standards and best practices
• Ability to travel and work on hyperscale or nationwide deployment projects
• FOA or manufacturer certifications preferred (Corning, CommScope, etc.)
